Professor Julian Malins, c4di project director is a leading authority on innovation in the North East of Scotland. Do you have a particularly tricky innovation challenge you’d like him to think about? Send him a message, and we’ll publish his reply here and in the next issue of serious play, our quarterly e-newsletter.
Here’s what he’s been thinking about recently "I’ve been thinking about how to reduce carbon emissions in companies by using reward based gaming. I’m interested in the theory and practice of how behavioural change can be brought about by game play, and how you can use the incentive of gaining points for every positive action that can be cashed-in for rewards, such as a new tree for a community garden. Changing micro-behaviours in this way can act as a catalyst for large-scale changes in attitudes to energy usage, resource efficiency and reduced carbon emissions."
